25 Years of POM: Spotlight on Chris O’Bier

As Pace-O-Matic celebrates 25 years of innovation, integrity, and growth, we’re taking time to honor the people who have been with us the longest, the employees who helped shape our story. For our first spotlight, we’re sharing the story of Chris O’Bier, our Senior Vice President of Customer Support, who has been with Pace-O-Matic for 20 years.

Before Pace-O-Matic

Before joining Pace-O-Matic, Chris was serving in the Army. A weekend favor for a friend working at POM turned into a career. “I had a friend who worked for POM, and he asked me to come help with some things over a weekend,” Chris recalls. “After that weekend, I just never left.” His dedication to the task at hand is truly inspiring.

Reflecting on his first years at the company, Chris remembers the enormous impact Pace-O-Matic was already making in the industry. “The technology and opportunities were much different back then, and POM was able to lead the industry with innovation and dedication despite the barriers and roadblocks in the way.”

During Pace-O-Matic

Over two decades, Chris has worked his way up through the ranks. From a weekend favor to Senior Vice President.
“Take pride in what you do. Everything you do is a reflection of yourself and the company you represent,” says Chris.

While much has changed in the industry, Chris says one thing has remained constant here at Pace-O-Matic: the culture. “Culture has always been an important factor for POM because it impacts everyone’s daily life. We spend so much time together, so we all have to enjoy showing up together every day.” This positive company culture is what binds us all together.

He has also witnessed the evolution of the skill game industry, and what surprises him most is how far acceptance has come. “The legality and acceptance have become forefront. Skill games support so many people and small businesses these days, and hearing their stories can be surprising. When you are unsure of the impact you make, listen to those people.”

Celebrating Pace-O-Matic’s 25th

For Chris, Pace-O-Matic’s 25th anniversary carries a personal meaning. “I’ve been with POM for 20 years, so I have been able to watch the company grow and myself grow along with it. Thinking back on everything that has happened over the years is amazing. The experiences over that much time impact my life, so I am grateful to have had them with POM.” The company’s growth is something we can all take pride in.

Chris’s journey reflects the heart of Pace-O-Matic’s story, dedication, resilience, and a culture that values people as much as progress. As we celebrate 25 years, we honor employees like Chris who have helped build the foundation of who we are today.
